Sunday Night - I took off the PS rear door panel (to trouble shoot the window not going down) and found a little surprise!

Apparently, the PO has lined under all the door panels with DYNAMAX XTREME . This stuff looks like Aluminum Foil with tar on one side. The inner doors are completely covered.

What should I do about this? This stuff is HARD to peel back and I am not sure where the electric motor is for the window. I don;t want to start cutting it out searching.

I posted this out on the 80 Tech, but not much info to be had. What's your recommendations or help about Dynamax or the window motor location!

Thanks!
John

What a wealth of information in such a simple post! Thanks CK! It's deeply appreciated!

I will try that out - then put more Dynamat back in!! LOL ;)

Nothing as of yet, I have been in the process of moving (should finish up on Sunday 10/12 hopefully) the one thing I have done is put in a Alpine 9847 HU for some tunes. The 80 PO removed the radio, so 2 1/2 weeks w/o tunes drove me nuts!

One thing I will say - Damn that Dynamat is Sticky Stuff, but it sure makes a great sounding stereo w/ all the windows closed!!

Here's a shot of the new HU. Bought it off CL for $80. Sounds excellent w/ the factory amp:

Hopefully, once the moving BS is over, I will have a chance to tear into that window regulator/motor.

Thanks for the followup though!

Screw the Dynomat! How about some q-tips and those vents. Maybe some sweet lovin' to the cruiser. How about a detailing day? I have some synthetic wax, q-tips, and clay bars to get you started. :flipoff2:

HAHAHAHAHA!! :lol::eek::lol:

Hence, why the Dynamat hasn't been cut out or window motor replaced yet!

That's one of the things I hate about that color - it shows EVERYTHING! I know, I haven't even had time to register the girl yet. Since I got her, I worked 70 Hours for the first 2 1/2 weeks, and then this moving BS. It's just delayed my normal routine by a month or so.

Between the :grinpimp: (Bossman), the :princess: -dos, then the :crybaby: :crybaby: (they're both girls) ~ sometimes man it's all I can do not to just :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang: !!!

My plan is to get settled into the new home, shampoo the carpets in the LC, detail the piss out of it, airhose the nicks and crannys and really make her shine! Then, 30 minutes later do a nice 30 mph dust road run! :steer: LOL

Hmmmm - I wonder if you could Scotch Guard the dash......

If you want someone to drink all your booze while you detail your cruiser I'm game. You should see how much time I put into mine. I just got done washing and waxing it and now this weekend I'm going to detail the interior with a wonderful dust magnet to keep her lookin' cherry.

LOL - I would love to have a couple Honey Browns, while enjoying some tunes, cleaning her out. I have taking some time to clean the vents w/ q-tips, however, there still some further cleaning. Those q-tips were NASTY dirty!

Can you take the vents out? That would be best - not having to clean them - but soak them.

I prefer being an anal retentive a-hole and detail every square centimeter of my vehicles just to have the satisfaction that I have way too much freakin' time on my hands. That and 100 PSI normally destroys the foam inside the vents which is not what I'm looking at doing.

Anybody else as detail oriented as I am about keeping their Cruiser's looking their best?
