Hello all, first time poster here. I have recently purchased a bu73 Dyna (14b motor,4x4,solid axles) fire engine to convert into an off-road flatbed service truck that will probably see some camping trips as well. I know this will be a big challenge but this seems like a platform with huge potential. I can attest personally that the Hiace trucks are great off-road work trucks And the Dyna seems like a logical step up for more serious adventure. Some of the challenges I’m looking at are: finding info on differentials( axle code q194) and getting some lockers(or find out if the have factory lsd). ,wheel spacers or rims to move between dual rear wheel and single rear wheel configuration, finding some bigger wheels with same lug patter, Turbo and intercooler installation, finding an alternative use for the pto such as generator or hydraulic pump, suspension needs help-a slight 1-2” lift as well as softer riding components. Excited to work on this project, will be doing most of the work myself as the Dyna seems like a very accessible truck to work on with the tilting cab and simple design elements
