DVD Wire for in Dash Unit

I have a DVD unit and the directions say to connect the wire to the hand brake

It does not say where on the hand brake if it is the negative or the positive. It also says to connect it correctly or risk damage. Has anyone connected on of these? Is it looking for +12V or the negative ground? This is one of the Chinese head units and the directions are in Japanenglish

connecting to the hand brake is a safety precaution so the unit only works when the parking brake is engaged. If you or your passenger want to be able to use the unit while driving then you usually just ground out the wire. Yours may be different. I would try grounding the wire first and seeing if the unit works. If that doesn't work then maybe the unit does need a 12v + signal to run. Just test the ground first.

just put it to a ground and it will work when ever you want.

use multi meter see if the wire has a positive output
