Hi guys, I have a 2002 Land Cruiser with 140k miles. Since purchasing the car, I've been unable to troubleshoot an issue I'm having where pushing the disc button on the MFD displays a message of "the external system is not connected".
I have verified the DVD changer in the center console is connected at both points, it gets power, cycles through discs, ejects, and there is even a brief pause when listening to the radio after the cartridge is inserted and again when the discs are loaded. This means the DVD unit is getting power and that there is some sort of connectivity to the head unit.
Any ideas on what I might try? All the info I read on MFDs is for 2004 and newer.
Also, would anyone have the repair manual for the MFD, perhaps that error code is listed? I have the repair manual for the DVD player, and no such code/message is listed.
Merry Christmas!
NicB
