5 days of @Fireman? in the same EAF t-shirt?

can you be OLAF and no pictures of food? coffee???

for gods sake, you ate bacon at least once right?

i KNOW @CandyPants ate well at least....

Glad to see your awning made it through unscathed. I remember when Rick came back after that trip the first time, i was looking at the sliders for damage and he says " yer looking to low, look up!"
His rain gutters had dents and his doors were fine.

tech question: any of the rigs have superchargers or turbos? Did you wish they did? ( I mean we all wish we did, but for making the obstacles safer in your mind) 10K feet elevation going up those angles...lots of skinny pedal even with gears?

LOL... @Fireman had some food pics....anytime food was made, I was starved....you DID see the white trash oreo pic tho, right?? ;) Lots of beers were drank too, pork chop in every bottle :D

We all ate awesome, @CandyPants had that well organized...well, other than flour ;) ...but we made due and everything was amazing.

Both of the full body 80's have lower diff gears and Marlin t-case gears....no induction changes. I had zero issues with power. It's never had issues in the San Juan's either across those 13k summits.

We were 3 days behind you. Saw your entry in the log at Ershim.

Dusy-Ershim is the best, at it's best. We hit the bottom of Thompson just as the rain started. It poured, hail. rivers of water down the hill on the trail. Lightening and thunder all around. We got soaked, meaning full body wet just getting up Thompson. Had to winch. I was stuck once about as hard as it's possible to be stuck after sliding backwards. HiLift, winch, then proceed. After that, it seemed easy. Once the dirt got wet, all we did was dig in. It took Thompson from a 1 hour ordeal to a 4 hour cold fuc**** rain ordeal. But when the rain quit, the campsite at Thompson dried out and we had a great evening.

Weird, the trail was basically just our 4 trucks. Considering this is the best 4WD trail out there, we had it to ourselves. There were 2 Idaho guys behind us that would come into camp in the evening but otherwise we never saw them. No one ahead, no one behind, it was surreal. And after the ordeal of Thompson in the rain/hail/sleet, fog, we were bulletproof.

And add another airlocker failure here. Internal leak up front starting on Thompsom. I'm done with airlockers. Would lock for 1 second then depressurize the whole system. Made for a few interesting moments. Flip on the front at the critical moment, flip it off to proceed. F them. Fortunately the rear lasted the entire trip. But done.

It really is the best "hardcore" trail in the US that is doable by full size vehicles IMO.

I did it once back in 2011 and can't wait to have a truck able to do it again in the future.

Great photos, solid team of people. :)
You let me know when you do. It's on our list, but not for 2019.

any of you get a GPS track made?
care to share? I downloaded one, but with all the trees down and huge snow years, it'd be interesting to see the changes.

Rick has one from Gaia but not needed. While you were lamenting your options, we were running the trail. It's very simple. 1 trail, no bypasses, do it. There are not significant deviations. Other than the snow we got into, route finding is not a problem. Hopefully you're in next year.

hey @woody did your delta systems rear pan hard bracket clang into your coils at all?
you run slinky set up with Icons, right?

Looking at getting one of them, but the web page mentions that "interference" could be an issue.

It was close, but I haven't noted any interference...the rig is 2000 miles away for the next 3 weeks, so little chance I'll be checking soon either ;) And yes, Slinky's with Icons.

Rubicon, Dusy, Rubicon again....nothing was noticed.
