I know its way off in the future, but having never wheeled the Dusy, its time... No chance of it happening this year for me, so time to look at next year. I guess late Aug/Sept are best times...

Who's interested?

What weekend looks good? (Its going to be at least 3 nights)

For those that havent been either, trailhead is just outside Shaver Lake, CA, at courtright reservoir in the southern sierra's.

there are some good reads on the trail if you hit google for "dusy ershim"

Brett,

A couple of friends just got back and told me that three days is not enough to enjoy the trip. It's 33 miles of Rubicon type trails and there is some nice fishing and climbing oportunities available. I knew my 40 was not prepared for it this year and had to pass it up.

They are already talking about going back up next year the weekend before the labor day holiday to get a full week in and have the monday holiday as a return day. I am setting my sights on making this one and now have a full year to plan and prepare.

I agree with Tim on taking a week to do this trip. From what I have read it is wonderful scenery and I want to enjoy it, not just bounce around for 3 days straight. Brett, once I get the Orion in, the Dusy will be much more enjoyable for me. I am game for next year for sure. I have wanted to do the dusy for awhile.

well, its on now.

From some trail reports I read, later is better in terms of mosquitoes(sp?)... Some trail report I read said there was snow on the ground in early Aug, so I am guessing no matter how nice the daytime is, night is chilly!

Noah, the Orion will make it much better, thats for sure!

My plan is to get a SOA FJ55 wheeler ready for the trip... what else am I going to do with the '76 piggie I have???

let's get to work on that piggy of yours Brett! Let me know if you need help. I can roll up to the ranch no problem, it would be good to have an excuse to escape the wife and kid, :) A sawszall and some spraypaint and we could have that thing ready to rock fairly quickly......

let me know if we are on for next weekend??

Yep- that is the site that piqued my interest. Originally we were discussing late August to avoid mosquitos - Noah- your 40 should be back in one piece by then- Brett- what about the 55.
