Have you ever been there?
If the clay is hard, I don't think the trails are much of anything but a scenic run through the pines.
But when they're muddy, they're treacherous.
I didn't hate mud before going there; I honestly hate mud now.

I'm still pulling chunks of mud from crannies under the Jeep almost 4 months later...

Come to RiverRock, in MilledgeVille GA off highway 441. Great place to wheel. Mud is pretty minimal if it hasn't rained a ton. Wheeled there many times. Great place, great owner (its private) and have all sorts of junk down there.

Yep, gotta go with HD on this one. I don't think we need to tell anyone what red Ga clay turns into when it get wet... The trails are descent on a dry day and can even be fun in a few places. When wet, you might as well strap on a set of skis and dock bouies. The trails are basically cut out of the woods with a bulldozer, then the occasional dirt pile for an obstacle to climb over. Besides, we're heading out there in about a month so you catch up with me then.

Thanks for the heads up. My friends have all ready paid for the cabin so I'll still have to check it out. I'll look you guys up for some future runs.
Dave
They have powerwash stations for the ATVs; don't park on the grating or you might drop through. Bring plenty of quarters 'cause they don't run long.

Weather looks better, but remember to bring mud boots

I'm curious to see this too, because their website doesn't say anything about full size 4x4's anymore. No pricing category for full size trucks either. And the photo gallery show the 4x4's as "archives". www.durhamtown.com

We didn't get many pics and we didn't get to a lot of the 4x4 sections. Our buddy's had some dirt bikes and atv's so most of the fun with the mud was with those. Heres a couple more shots of my buddy's 4R. It's the ONLY SAS'd 4th gen 4Runner anywhere as far as we know. It's an unreal rig ....makes my 80 feel so wimpy!!

Well, at least there are some rocks. I've never been there and always heard it was just muddy trails. This is refreshing to see.

BTW, Sweet 4R!
I don't think those rocks were on the 4x4 trails. All of the trails I hit were mud moguls. I think I went on all of the "official" trails there...

So is this breaking any park policies? Should we NOT be encouraging this behavior?

:crybaby:
I don't think they mind at Durhamtown; they get so few 4x4s anyhow.
I'd just like to know where it was; maybe near their cabin?

I did a little creative bypassing there from the bottom of some mud holes. I didn't feel like getting out into knee-deep mud to winch up the slop so I climbed the bank and went around...

I just wouldn't ever go there again when it's wet and muddy.
