my results were not as advertised. seems like a stainless steel brush is key so i bought one and nothing changed, it stuck stuff together but not great.

I've seen it used at the gunshow and car swap meets to weld beer cans together but I've never seen it work in real application.

damn . .. I would use it in new parts .. actually alum intercooler and flange that needs to be welded together .. but that must be good weld. I was feeling lucky with this new " cheap " option .. since I was unable to locate a reputable shop down here to do the TIG alum weld ..

I tried it to weld a rear hatch handle back together. I was able to get it to stick, but I really had to glom it on there. When I ground off the excess, what was left was a very porous weld. Keep in mind I have no prior aluminum welding experience. It was difficult to tell when the right time was to weld because aluminum gives very little indication that it has reached melting temperature before it just goes soft. Anyhow, my point is that after I got finished gringind the weld down so the hatch handle could operate through the slots in the hatch I gave it a gentle tug and promptly broke it in two. Granted, the hatch handle material was probably some sort of pot metal to begin with that had no right to be welded, but I found the aluminum brazing rod at my local welding supply shop (instead of having to buy 1/4th as much for twice the price online) so I went ahead and gave it a try. I probably won't be trying it again. YMMV.
