So while sanding I burned through a couple tiny spots in my primer. I'm using a upol product for primer. Anyways the paint guy at my local napa said that duplicolor primer in a rattle can will work fine. My paint is a Valspar urethane enamel. Any help would be appreciated.:beer:

Go to the paint store for that brand of paint and ask them they have several types, if I break through to bare metal I use a little acid etched primer and lightly sand when dry

Paint store was closed when I posted this so not a possibility. So I already sprayed the duplicolor primer and it looked pretty good. I was wiping my parts down with pre cleaner this morning getting ready for color and noticed that the duplicolor seemed to be coming off a bit on my rag! I think I am screwed, or is this to be expected and normal? UPOL primer did not come off at all. Do I continue and start spraying or am I FAWKED?!
PLZ HELP?!

The pre wipe of wax and grease remover can take off a bit of paint if it is put on heavy with maybe moderate pressure. Just a small bit of color transfer shouldn't be too much to worry about. But if it's doing more than just tinting your rag from a quick wipe, reconsider primers...
