Hey All,
Just a quick update for those who I haven't already told - "Dozer" is now LPG powered!

I bought some parts from a guy on Mud, and a big thanks to Al for helping me in the tank department! Got her running this weekend and was having issues, but our friends at Pirate got me straightened out and now she is running well. I have to swap in some colder plugs and get her timed up, but other than that it's pretty sweet. Here's a few pics. I was able to retain the factory throttle linkage with some major modification and fabrication, but well worth it! I'm stoked - bring on the rocks!!

This is the throttle linkage bracket I had to fab up:

That's pretty sweet!

How far do you think you can travel on one tank?

Genrally propane vehicles get about half the gas mileage of a carbed one untill it has finished naturally cleaning out the gunk and carbon build up in the engine. After that it gets around 1 or two below stock with some reporting higher mpg.

Glad the tank worked out for you. :grinpimp:

All reports I have read have indicated about 1 tank per full day of wheeling. I will be running two tanks and someday will add a third just to take with me on the longer rides. I don't care about mpg since Dozer doesn't see much pavement anymore :)

Now, if anyone knows of stations that still refill pane in the Raleigh area (preferably W Raleigh/Cary) please post 'em up!

Find a company that does all the forklifts for warehouses and such. They do swap outs for their customers but are not against refilling a tank if you take it too them.

Yeah, I knew some UHaul places do refills, but the closest one is still a good 15min drive. I was hoping to find a little hole in the wall convenience store in the area that still does it. Not much luck so far - thanks for that link though!

From my experience propane companies are cheaper than Uhauls.... just saying :grinpimp:

most RV places will do it too since most RVs have propane stoves and fridges. Some have huge tanks on them too.

What about buying a household tank and having the home delivery fill you up? Then you could fill your tank up from the house.
