I am looking at buying a trailer that has a 3500# axle under it but it has the wrong lug pattern. Can I just buy a new hub with the correct pattern? I want to run the same wheels and tires as the 80. 1994 original wheels. Thanks guys.

Yes, usually the #3500 lb axles are a 6 lug pattern. What is the current bolt pattern? If it is 5 lug, they are usually a lighter
load weight axle. Basically, more lugs bolts, more weight.
You might consider an adapter plate, might add 1" to either side if you can afford that extra width.
Post pics, and do you have/know the manufacturer of the axle?

No such thing as a dumb question. You should hear the s*** I ask myself every day!

IIRC, most hubs have a standard bolt pattern on the back. Should be a simple swap. PO that did my M101CDN from military hubs to Landcruiser rims did that.

That looks to already be a 37" tire. May not need to be flipped.

Hmmm? I am not familiar with this type of trailer. I gather this is a good platform? This looks to be to heavy for the 80? Clue me in please......

Too heavy for an 80?!?

I saw an 80 towing a 40 on a 16' car trailer today going 65!....I doubt that trailer fully loaded and equiped to the gills would even be noticed behind an 80.

You should be able to find that trailer cheaper than that!
