Is anyone on here a Duke fan?
I know nothing about sports and I especially know nothing about NC sports.

Are they any good at football?

My guess.

Alabama is coming to Durham to play Duke in football. Bama is ranked #1 in the country. The Bama fans bought out the season ticket packages to Duke just to get this one ticket. Duke is not that great in football.

My first day back at work today.
My unit gave me a desk job until I recover.
Anyway, got an invite to be the guest of honor to the Army vs. Duke football game.
Apparently some people call me doing my job being a hero. So they are going to do some sort of something (not really sure what) for me and my buddy.

Either way I thought Id ask if there is any Duke fans because I might be able to swing an extra ticket (not guaranteed but I could ask). You know I could be like hey my brother in law is in town can he come along type of thing.

At this point I have much info but should get more info by the end of the week.

Dude, you guys are heroes - don't sell your "job" short. That's the kind of thing we should be doing all the time to remind all of us that while we sit and enjoy a football game, guys like you are out kicking ass so we can. Hope it'll be a great experience for you. That's one thing I love about NC State, we do a lot of things to honor the men and women of the armed forces!

Total agreement. If it were not for people like you Del, that dedicate themselves to protect our freedom, hell, I'd have to do it and I'm too old and fat.

Like Ramon said, enjoy the reward and I'm sure it will be a good time. I won't comment on Duke football, yet...

You've earned it!

Del,

Hey bro enjoy the game you have earned it! Thank you and your brothers in arms for everything you have done. Be safe and get well soon I want to see ya back out on the trails.

Semper Fi,

Adam

Damn Del, that's pretty sweet. Those tickets are pretty hard to come by, you deserve it brother:cheers:

However, if you need some moral support at the game, I'll be in town that weekend if you'd want to be seen in public with a Marine;)

Del,
DUKE rules!!...but only when Basketball season starts :) ...enjoy the game and thanks for what you and all the service men and women do for us..my brother served in Iraq for 15 months and returned last summer...he is now in Alabama, a happy Crimson Tide (from what he tells me they are a real football team..LOL)..but seriously, I am grateful and appreciate what you all do...cheers..Roger
P.S...if you are looking for a fun college football team...look towards the mountains and you will find it in Boone, NC...home of the Appalachian State Mountaineers..sorry, had to put in a plug for my alma mater..

I guess I read this one too late. I'm in grad school at Duke and I would have come if I had known a Mudder was going to be there (we get free football tickets as students). Instead I changed the oil on my 60 so not all is lost. :) After they way they beat me up with school here it was good to just get outside and change the oil.

Hope you enjoyed the game and had fun watching Army beat up on Duke. Maybe one day we'll have a decent team. Coach Cutcliffe seems to be a pretty good coach so maybe he'll turn it around here eventually. For now all we have is basketball. Too bad I'm not a basketball fan.

It was very nice. The heat was the only thing that was a little unbearable. My kids are not used to being out in the sun for long periods like that so we left at half time.
