and I read someplace that you have to rack up some significant number of miles out of state too if you want to bring it back to the PRK. That true?

You are good at finding ways NOT to do this.:lol: I've heard the same thing; however, like I've already said, "Where there's a will, there's a way", so if you decide you want to give it a go, just don't buy a new one. Find one that's already been through the route and call it good or find a sufficient way to have it licensed/titled in another state and drive it in Cali with the other plates until it gets the 7,500 miles that is required. This happens all the time and is especially easy to do if it's not your only means of transportation.

Now find ways to make it happen instead of vice versa.

I am looking into one of these as my first bike. Found a used one that was laid down and fixed by a shop for about 4,600. Now if only I hadn't bought that 2k mountain bike 6 months ago. Dang college keeps me so poor.

Suzuki DRZ-400SM 35 inch seat hight and just under 300lbs

That is a great bike! Price is really steep, but it's a good motorcycle. What does it weigh, 280 i think. . .

what say mud about Zuks?

...

Lance found one he thinks he NEEDS. 2006 DRZ400s, 1600 miles $3000. It looks nice, blue and white. Good deal?

Well, how does this one strike you? (It's not yet in my garage, but me and a couple of hard chargers are gettin' it done--eBay score:D):

Hey, I've got that sitting in my garage! Yes, that exact one!

my roomate in college had a dr350. My roommate when i graduated had a drz400. Both great bikes. I really liked the drz400. He could almost keep up with me on my ATK 605.

Pretty light weight. Might think about upgrading the suspension and exhaust. Good power. Not gobs, but good.

Nothing wrong with Suzuki. DRZ400 is an excellent first bike. That motard version is way

where'd this "motard" stuff come from?

Dang! I just got used to "Dual sport" and "Enduro" :D

but....with what I'm seeing,,,I ain't got no problems!

That Duc, hell the Zuk the Versys...man they're looking good!

The Duk is looking the best exept for the price, with its single sided swing arm. But I'm gonna go for the Versys...

poor ol' Honda....:frown:...with their bean counters and market analysts.

The Versys is one hell of a nice bike.

Best all around motor too....simple and fast.

Basically an updated version of the one in my current bike.

anybody knows about the Suzuki DR350? Saw a 98. Air cooled. Any big plus or minus compared to the DR400?

Looked at a Bimmer F 650GS today. Very nice. Low suspension +$150 and low profile seat @ no charge with swap. With the low suspension I'll be able to flat-foot it. Very cool. Now I have to figure out a way to get it and keep the 80...:hhmm:

is that the 650/800 GS? what was the MSRP on it?

Man, I'm not sure I get the whole 800/650 thing. The 650 was a thumper. Now it's a twin. The 800 is new, but it won't be out til later, so it will be called an '09. The dealer said the 650 is really an 800 and if you compare them on BMW's site, they're both listed as 798. (I DO understand the whole rounding uo thing...):confused::confused: But to answer your question, MSRP on the 800 is $10,520 and the 650 is $8255. The local shop has an '06 650 with <8,000 mi, heated grips, ABS, handguards, back rack, lower crankcase guard, etc. for $7500 and they'll swap seats and do the lowering mod for me for free. I just have to talk :princess: into it!

if i had the extra cash, i would be riding this monday morning.

If I had the extra cash, I would have been in the driveway with the Bimmer when the wife came home!

yeah i don't get the 650/800 deal but they are nice. As for the 800 i know they are listing it as an 09 but the dealership is getting them in august, or at least here they are. I'm going to check them both out and see what i like better.
