On my way to work I was noticing (by looking at the rear hatch of an suv while driving) that my side of the head light was not on but the passenger side was. It was working fine until last night. I guess this morning it got burnt some how. Anyway, as soon as I pulled into the parking lot I checked the high beam lights, they work but the low beam DS light does not come on. Is it time to do a Slee wiring upgrade? Simply replace the bulb or there's a bigger problem?

Thanks

Low beams and high beams are seperate bulbs....

I just replaced mine with the HIR's from John Deere.....

Search "John Deere" to find more...

They are very easy to change out. You can pick up a new bulb at any local auto parts store if you don't want to upgrade.

I don't need to change the wires for this? If I don't want to upgrade.

You do not need to change the wires to change the bulb.

The pair of bulbs will cost you between 3.99 and 19.99 depending on the brand you choose. Change the passenger side at the same time, keep the passenger side bulb as an emergency spare in the glove box.

Oh, and when you are changing bulbs:

Wear rubber gloves, or wipe down the bulb glass with an alcohol wipe after installing it. Oils from your skin will make the bulb burn out quicker than it should.

Also, store the spare bulb in the glove box in a plastic sack for the same reasons.

I had to take off alot of parts to replace the Low beams! Toyota seemed to make this job hard. The passenger side was easy to do but the Driver side one, you have to take off the auxiliary fan thing and I ddint get to change the highbeeam light cuz one of the bolts for the fan was hidden behin so much that I couldnt get to it. Hope it doesnt go out. I have a 92 FJ. Are the 93-later years different?

Hmm.. not sure about any thing older than 97. It seems pretty simple on a 97.

Must be a fj80 thing, the 94 was very simple and the only part I had to remove was on the passenger side. This was just the cool and overflow tank that slid right off.
