The handle away from the axle is correct. It took me two times of loosening the frigging adjusters to figure this out. I even marked a little arrow on the backing plate with a sharpie because I'm kind of a tard sometimes!

I was at harbor freight yesterday after reading this thread and noticed that they have a smaller brake adjusting tool that should work for $3.99.
I've used the SST for 20 years and Im looking forward to retiring it soon when I get done installing four wheel disks.
