So a lot of the guys that deployed left their vehicles here outside the office and asked me to drive them around for them. One happens to be a bone stock older Rubicon. If you haven't been down to Ft. Bragg everybody and their sister has a Heep Strangler. Well not 10 seconds into driving down the road two jeeps in a row go by. The guy must have read the fear in my mind as he threw up a Jeep salute. Bout crapped myself..but I was friendly enough to send one back. I got two more in the matter of a 2 mile drive. Man did that hurt. I did wheel it up a really steep embankment in 2WD just becuase it was a good short cut into a parking lot. It has some MT-R's on it and they grip really well and it is a soft ride compared to the 40's. But the thing has never been off-roaded he didn't even know what the rear locker was for and the road noise is atrocious. A testament to the Heep type of buyer. Most don't even know how to use their rigs...but they sure look cool.

What I thought was more fun was the AWD Subaru outback. Mainly becuase it has A/C. It was 105 without the heat index here in Fay the other day.

Anyway just thought I would throw my pain out there.

I used to work on them back when i was in, it was the only real shop here that was into offroad stuff at the time. The thing i used to like to do to them the most was cut on them for whatever reason we needed to. Just hearing the metal scream was music to my ears.

Sounds like you need a ride in my 40 to choke you with dust, ride like a tank, in my case cut off on steep inclines and almost flip to get that heep cr@p out of you Jason :D

well before Jason hops on here and blows the whistle :whoops:.........Stacy and I do have a Jeep. Actually Tillman's stroller is a Jeep jogging stroller. And it's the best handling Jeep I've ever seen. :flipoff2: And after all the sh*t I got from J at lunch I will be pulling out the dremel to remove the logos and put on Teq badges. So if anyone has a good line on where to find them just let me know. :hillbilly:

While this is still somewhat fresh on the forum, Have any of you noticed how low the shock mounts hang on the 4 door versions (and maybe on all the new wrangler's)? While at the coast this weekend I noticed that there is about 6-7" of shock exsposed below the axle tubing and it appeared to hang even lower at the mounts than the pumpkin.

Not sure but I will admit that if I wanted a brand new 4x4 it would be a 4 door rubicon... nothing brand new even comes close that we can buy over here.
