I know someone told me how to do this but I'm not having any luck. If I have my front e-locker actuator removed what do I need to do to drive it without re-installing the actuator. If you have any pictures or long winded verbose advice you'd rather email me please do so at (clownmidget@yahoo.com) as I need to get this thing back on the road by this afternoon. Many thanks in advance.

I have been driving around with the gearset out of my rear locker for a couple of months.

Yeah, I know I can do that, just wanted to be able to slip actuator back in easily without any alignment issues with the fork. Like I said, someone on the list destroyed their rear actuator and jerry-rigged it somehow while they figured out what they were going to do in terms of replacing it. They gave me a simple elegant solution but my brain ain't what it used to be. Thought more folks would chime in but maybe they're too busy wheelin'????

If you are any where near the rust belt and have ignored your e-locker actuator even though it's been acting up, slow to engage, etc. I would say better get on it. Plan on replacing all of the bolts, etc. too with some new ones since it's no fun screwing around with ones that are rusty, heads starting to round off, etc. Extend those breathers too!!

That sounds like ME :D

The front is a little different than the rear but I don't see why you couldn't do what I did.
Some how you need to keep the fork from moving or it will lockup on you.

I made a cover out of a sheet of steel. I used a large bolt that I put in place of the actuator shaft. I put a nut on the bolt so that the fork wouldn't move. I sealed the cover with FIPG.
I had it that way for many months.

Ah, Kurt - so it was you. Thanks, that was the solution, I just couldn't remember what the bits were that you used to keep it all from moving. I'll probably forego the fipg since it'll only be this way until the weekend and I'm in southern CA.
