I'm looking for an alternate route to NH instead of the usual TZ bridge to 95 in CT to 91 North. I don't feel like dealing with the construction on 95 in CT, just drove it last weekend and with a trailer, the Jersey barriers and narrow curving lanes, I want something different.
Please let me know if you have any experience with these options and if you think they are good. I'd like to stick with major highways and avoid mountain passes.
Also I'm leaving tomorrow morning to camp the coast of Maine so reply quickly!
1. 87 North to Newburgh NY area, 84 East to Hartford CT area, 91 North to Keene NH, 101 East. (249 miles 4 hr 54 min)
2. 87 North to Ravena NY area (just south of Albany), 90 East (Mass Turnpike) to Chicopee, 91 North to Bernardstown NH, 10 North to 101 East (265 miles 5 hrs)
3. 87 North to Albany NY, NY 7E (Hoosick Rd), NH 9E (Franklin Pierce Hwy) to Keene NH, 101 East. (236 miles 5 hr 20 min)
I like option #3, another 20 minutes is really nothing but I'm concerned about NY 7E and NH 9E. Remember, I'll be towing a 24' trailer with my 4Runner on it, if these roads aren't feesible please let me know.
