OK, the window locking switch is broken (PO broke it) and i would ilke to roll the window's down while i wheel this weekend. How can i fix it? Can i cut a wire in the back to disengage or am i SOL? I can roll the drivers window down but i would also like to roll down the others. Does anyone have an extra one that is going to the round-up this weekend? It would take about 10 minutes to switch them out.

Thanks guys,

Jason

same reply i left on the 3FE list:

the switch completes a circuit to send power to the
other windows (thru a relay? i don't know). when the
switch fails the circuit stays open: windows no workie

i had to solder the rocker in the switch in place till
i found a replacement switch. it's fairly simple to
open it up and get to the mechanism. before i did the
temp fix i just stuck an appropriately sized
pen/pencil in the slot to force the rocker against the
contacts for a temporary connection. that depends on
how your switch is broken i presume

additional info:
if the plastic rocker is gone, you can see the contacts that need to make an electrical connection, a piece of wire strategically placed will get the windows moving. not going to be easy when driving though
