Hi everyone,

I am owner of a lx470 (100 series cruiser, i think). I am a total noob here and I hope I don't make a total fool out of myself on my first post. I have a 2000 lx470 with a driver and passenger door lock button that stopped working all of a sudden.

I took the vehicle into the dealer and they checked a few things and came to the conclusion that a driver side junction block might not be working. The dealer swapped out a master switch and that wasn't the problem. Next, they check the harness and no cut in the wire was what they told me. So, they naturally assume that the junction block is bad and want to charge me $1400 to fix the darn thing.

I read here that 2000 year model had some issues with metal shavings in the junction block and a simple procedure. I have no idea where to even begin. There was a reference to blowing air through the thing to clean out the metal shavings. Could someone provide some details on how this can be done? I figure it can't hurt before I have to spend $1500 dollar to fix the darn thing.

Any thoughts are most appreciated it.

Regards,
Vis.

All four of my auto locks are part time only. My mechanic told me the actuator was actually going out on them. Heat seems to have a real affect. The hotter it is, the less they want to work.

I think this is the problem. It was the problem I had. Search actuator and on will find a great thread on installing them.
