I have a slight grrrr in my rear driveshaft between 65-70 at part throttle (goes away when I let off completely or press the petal more). I want to get this addressed before an upcoming road trip. Figured I should have both my driveshafts balanced and new u-joints all around.

Any recommended shops in the San Diego area? I have heard Oceanside driveline but any others? Would be nice if they could put the truck on a rack and measure pinion angles, etc.

I had a 3.5" lift with 315s and now have a 2.5" with 295s. I didn't notice it with the higher lift but the tires were pretty loud so who knows.

I think I am going to try Drive Line Service

It was that or East County Driveline. Both have good reviews, but DLS seems to be a bit better. We shall see.

Eric,

Did you ever wind up using Drive Line Service San Diego? I candy caned my rear driveshaft on the trail this weekend and now I'm getting some major vibes. Think it needs to be rebalanced. DLS San Diego is right down the street from me. If you did use them, were you happy with the end result and customer service?

No I never did. I think they wanted $150 or so to replace both u-joints and balance the shaft, and I got a price from CDAN for (I think) $3xx something for a brand new complete shaft with slip joint and two u-joints. I was going to go that route, but ended up lubing the u-joints really good in the meantime and that seemed to help. I sold the 80 shortly after and never did finish the job.
