Hello,
I recently had the u-joints replaced on my 2001 100 series. I was under the truck this weekend changing the oil and I noticed that the drive shaft was installed backwards. The zerk fitting for the slip joint is in the font. I can not notice any drivability problems. Do I need to switch it back?

Thanks,
Kevin

Slip joint to the front or to the rear has been debated a few times, for what it's worth my 03 has the slip at the front and came from the factory that way. If you're happy with yours as is I wouldn't mess with it. There was an increase in driveshaft diameter between model years, not sure if that also included swapping the slip orientation.

On some slip joint in front gives a little more clearance for sway bar travel.

Then there's the whole water drainage argument. Mud has beat this one to death. If it's not vibrating, leave it alone. You look at it wrong and it will start vibrating :-/
