I have a 2002 ford truck that has painted drip channels on the roof. Common ford issue. The paint is starting to crack in the corners of the drip rail, no rust or damage yet, just looks like seam sealer under the crack.
I took it to a body shop and they said it would need the entire roof painted to address it, $1000. They won't do just the drip channels.
I'm thinking I can shoot some sort of sealant on the corners and then spray paint the drip channels black or plasti-dip, see how it works before I spend $1k to paint the roof. Any recommendations on a sealant, or if this is a useless approach? The only thing I can think of that would hold up is something like Dicor.
