After several years of lusting after them, I'm pulling the trigger on the Outback drawers. Since I want to put in a fridge and eventually a ham radio, my thought is to do the dual battery set up as well. I'm planning on using Slee's second battery tray and second battery isolator system: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/products_battery.html

Thoughts re this plan? Anything else I should do while doing this?

Thanks.

I would do it in the following order:

1. Dual battery installation with isolator
2. Drawer system with BlueSea fuse box mounted on under drawer wings
3. Fridge hooked into BlueSea fuse box
4. Ham Radio wired into Blue Sea fuse box
5. Ham Radio antenna mount
6. Camping Hatch LED lights
7. LED Light bar wired into second battery

Dan, call me to talk about the details of any of this.

Congrats on a good decision. Question for you- what made you decide on the IBS controller? I've been looking at these for a while as well, and I've read all the threads... So why IBS as opposed to painless, hellroaring, 12v guy, perfect switch, wrangler northwest... The list goes on. Any good info which swayed your decision toward the IBS?

Honestly, I dont have the technical expertise to speak to the merits of each system. Based on what I've read, the IBS seems like a quality product and others (Romer et al.) seem to like it. Wish I could give you a more thoughtful analysis!

Dan, you should consider the T-Max dual battery controller system. It has worked great for me 1/3 the price of IBS. However, if you have money to spend, you can't go wrong with the IBS controller.

I have an extra antenna mount from Shane that I am not using that will work great for your Ham mount. I'll take you down to the local ham radio outlet to demo a few of the radios so you can get a better feel for what will work best for you.

No apologies necessary! Just trying to gather all the info I can. Good luck on your install!
