Hello everyone,

Just bought a nice 05 100 series last week, so exploring it and getting to know it better. I noticed when detailing it there is a small orange dot painted on the side rearview mirror and the windshield. It was done on purpose by someone for some reason. The car is in immaculate shape with no Carfax damage history and no evidence of any wreck damage.

Is this a factory thing? each dot is about 1/8 of an inch in size. The car has beautiful paint and its had some sort of dealer applied "permaplate" by first owner, so maybe it has something to do with that?

I scraped at the one on windshield with my fingernail and it came off pretty easily. Wonder if it was something the dealership did on the sale lot that was low key for salespeople to use.

usually see that type of paint mark from junkyards when they mark the parts, but i wouldnt worry about it. Razor blade it off and go have some fun.

Probably means they were replaced during the life of the vehicle prior to you owning it. My 04 LC had the front windshield replaced at some point by the PO, and there is a small chrome dot in the same location as yours from the installer.

I'm with ENGINE er, scrape it off and enjoy your new LC!

I scraped them off, thanks!

Probably not a sign of replaced parts. Dealerships use those marks to help sales people know where there are in the car. Different colors, different meaning. Typically doesn't and shouldn't mean anything to you the next owner.

Thanks Grego. I thought I saw them on another car at dealership also, so made me wonder if that was it. They were also in a prominent drivers side location. Subtle but still there if you were looking.
