can someone tell me what this clip does? I’m sure it has a function otherwise toyota would not have stuck it on there.
I’d like to remove it so I can install some Vent Visors.

It prevents the window from going of the track and get in the frame sideways, usually you can use these together with the deflectors

I think without those clips your door glass tends to get pushed to the outside of the door while closing it and yes it is there to guide the glass back into the channel note the gap is consistent top to bottom on the leading edge of the glass that is there to solve a problem

When you are traveling at freeway speeds, with the door windows slightly open, the pressure differential wants to pull the windows away from the body. The guides assist in closing the windows.

Thanks fir all the response. I removed the clips and installed the vent visors. Hoser you nailed it. Without those clips, the pressure differential pulls the window out, away from the body. I was not able to roll the window up at speed, the upper part of the window was pulled so far out of the track. I’m going to try to bend the clips so the will fit with the vent visors.
