door panel is messed up!

i started installing new speakers in the 100.
front no problem .
started to do the rear and my panel is all rotten and moldy inside.
the plastic that covers the door was all ripped up and wet.
im so pissed i didn't take a pic yet.
so do you'll think the fu(ked up plastic could cause this or is the door leaking?
water shouldn't get inside the door right?
i need to find out how the water is getting in and i need a new door panel.

Water shouldn't be in there. New door card will set you back close to $500 (might be able to find a used one online, I have seen other members get them for much cheaper on ebay. I have been looking for a new front door card due to a tear in mine). I don't think ripped up plastic cover is the main concern. Something is allowing water to get in. Check the weather stripping that runs around the door.
