I have 2 100's and one of them seems to develop the strangest issues that nobody else on here seems to have. Today I opened my left-rear passenger door and when I went to shut it, it just bounced back. Figured something was in the way, found nothing. The door absolutely will not latch shut even if forced. I'm guessing theres an issue with the door handle internals but was hoping you all would have some ideas. Any help is appreciated.

See if the opening on the door latch is open. Usually they look like a C in the open position (ready to close), when it his the striker pin on the body the C rotates around the pin, latching it closed. I would suspect that your latch is the closed position, which would just bounce back off the pin, or the C portion cannon rotate property to clasp (and hold the door).

If it that C portion is open, I would suspect it is gunked up. Using some PB blaster or even WD40 on the parts inside will likely get everything jiving again.

Thanks for the reply @FranceJohnson .. unfortunately it looks like the C is not in the closed position. It's in the same position as all of the other doors. I sprayed it down with white lithium with no luck. The C latch is not frozen and moves freely just like the other doors.

So just discovered the issue. The C moves TOO freely and does not eventually catch/latch in place. I can rotate it end to end with ease. The other doors are difficult to rotate and eventually latch/catch in place, then pulling on the door handle releases the latch.

I can shoot a video if this isn't really clear. Anyone have an idea on what would be loose/broken that would allow the C to rotate freely and not catch? Thanks.

You are going to probably have to dive into the door. The C part should lock into place once its rotated. Without actually looking at it, I would assume there is a spring or clip that something engages with that locks it into place, then pops free when the handle is pulled. Not sure how mechanical/analytical you are. If you can remove the assembly you can probably see what isn't catching any why.
