Came back from lunch today to find my electric door lock switches (driver and passenger) not working. Any tips on where to start my search. Got some rain in the rig last night, but they worked fine this morning.

Any help is appreciated.

Are the locks not moving at all, or are they moving but only slightly - not enough to lock and unlock the doors?

HA! I thought I was the only one! I left my DS window open about a month ago and sure enough... it DUMPED rain that night. Spring in San Diego... who woulda guessed. But back to the point, my locks went absolutely haywire for about a week.

Niether of the lock/unlock switches nor any of the keys would trigger the locks. This would have been all well and good except for the fact that mine would throw a lock or unlock randomly while driving around. So for about a week it was a complete crapshoot as to whether the locks would be locked or unlocked when I got to where I was going. Half the time I would have to walk a full lap around the POS and lock all the doors by hand because I could not get the locks to trip manually for the life of me.

But alas... they cleared themselves up after a couple of days of drying out. I do remember I could get the switch to work occasionally by hitting the drivers side armrest a couple of times. This would get the switch working temporarily, presumably it would just move some of the water in the switch/actuator around clearing whatever was going on. It would only last for a few seconds though.

I'd let them dry out for a couple of days before tearing into anything. Mine having been working fine since they dried out.

Now they work a little, clearly a short caused by water last night. We'll see what happens at the rig dries out.

Thanks for the responses.
