While camping and exploring this past weekend, I was setting-up the bed in the back of the Cruiser with the rear liftgate and tailgate open. I noticed even though I had the dome's turned "off", the lights for the doors stayed on. This is not a problem for people with LED's I'm sure, but I don't have any yet. My solution, (and you may have thought about this already) was to trigger the latch on the rear liftgate to make it think it was latched. Then to "undo" this process, simply pull on the handle, and it will unlatch. No banana's, maybe just the sticker from one. That's all. :D

Normal operation :D

Get yerself some LEDs for the doors. They're super cheap at www.superbrightleds.com.

The ones in mine are from George Scolaro, but the wife's have 4 from superbrightleds.com.

You'll want these:
WLED-6 LED bulb
12 VDC 6-LED Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)

They run about $3 each.

I'm having a hard time finding those on the website?!

WLED-6 LED bulb

I have George's 3-LED setup and also tried the WLED-6 LED bulb setup and the difference in brighteness is about the same. The WLED-6 has 6 smaller LEDs compared to George's 3 larger LEDs. One major difference between the two is that with George's LED, I can angle the two outer LED to redirect the light output for a more "spread" pattern like the OEM bulb. The WLED-6 LED only has a 35 degree light pattern.

I saw that they have a new WLED-W5 bulb that has a wideangle beam pattern. Anyone tried this bulb?
