When my windows are not fully up or fully down and I shut the door, I get a pretty loud slap (or clank) that is very uncharacteristic considering the fit and finish of the LC. When my windows are up, they are perfectly tight and they go up and down smoothly.

Is this normal or am I possibly missing a trim piece or seal? This is more of an annoyance than anything, but the sound makes me cringe any time it happens.

I don't have the slap but I do get some irritating wind noise from top of drivers door, I assume coming around a worn weather strip. Visually it looks quite worn down, like all of the opening and closing over the years has degraded it, which I would expect. Has anyone replaced the weatherstrip on their 100? Cost? Thanks

Also have this problem on my sequoia. While doing another repair I noticed the bolts holding the glass to the actuator were loose, so i tightened them. The noise went away for a while but now it's back, guessing the bolts are loose again.

Bluecruiser, besides changing the weatherstripping, often the upper portion of the door frame/window gets bent over time. The ghetto fix is to place a shoe between the door and jamb at about door handle height and bend the top of the frame back in.

To the OP, I'd compare your DS and PS windows and look for the play. Again, besides the weatherstripping, it could be the window track alignment. Could also be thinner/aftermarket glass.

My ds door made the same noise for a while...end result was window coming out of the track upon roll-up.

Most likely cause is either a broken window-to-regulator bracket or, if you luck-out, a loose or missing bolt between the bracket and regulator.

If you issue is a loose bolt, remove and reinstall w/ a little blue loctite. Obviously you'll want to check the other bolt while you're at it.

Squirt some silicone spray in all window channels when you're finished.

I have this same condition on my driver's side window. I need to tear into the door as well to remedy this annoying problem.

Anyone know what kind of black adhesive/sealant is used to hold the plastic sheet (between the door and door panel)? Mine has holes punched through it and I'll be replacing it with a new one and I want to use the correct adhesive.

I use regular black rtv with great results...gaffer's tape to keep the plastic in place while the rtv cures.

Thanks for your response Steve. I considered RTV, but I really like the factory goop because it's "reusable". I can pull off the plastic to access the guts in the door and when I'm done, press down and the plastic sheet sticks right back on there without having to re-goop.

Anyone know what's used be the factory?
