Hey guys! This is my first ever post here, I hope I am doing this right. I recently picked a '91 FJ80 and couldn't be happier with it. I am slowly restoring the interior, fixing small things that make the vehicle feel less like a $h!tbox.
I ordered all new OEM door switches because the car would not react to me opening any door but the front passenger (door ajar light would come on) which would allow the dome lights to go on automatically. However, all doors are now causing the warning and the dome lights to go off but the driver door. Brand new door switch did absolutely nothing for it, it still does not work. I was able to get to the harness behind the B-pillar plastics to see if I can see any visible damage to the wiring and there's no signs of any damage. I am kind of stuck, not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated!
While on this topic, I am having a strange issue with the tailgate. It does trigger the door ajar warning, but when dome lights are switched to the "door" setting, opening the tailgate does not trigger the dome lights. Any idea why that is?
