The CF25 cost $300 on last week. Looks like it's back up again today. I had a gift card to burn so I figured I'd see how much fridge I could fit in there.
Now, the CDF11 looks better as a console and has cup holders. However, the CF25 has much more space in it and isn't that much bigger.

Today I ripped out my old center console (which only had like 3 screws holding it in (thanks PO) And started doing test fits.

This is with the fridge all the way forward and the cup holder removed. (it's held to the trim ring by three screws.)
Note that the hand brake is still there. I removed the arm rest on the passenger seat, and was able to keep the DS arm rest since I needed the space for the parking brake. (which was also left disconnected by the PO.)

That cupholder sucks anyway.
I also picked up an EXPED mattress, and wanted to make sure that this tall sucker didn't interfere.

So YES. It'll work!
I'm going to make a small platform that'll bolt down and then strap the cooler to it with ratchet straps.
With the strap design, I think I can allow the cooler to be slid backward to make room for a removable (and better) cupholder.

More to come, but I'm happy with my experiment.

Also, oh my god it's gross under there. I'm going to be scrubbing that entire area out before I bolt down the mounting platform.
Things I found inside the console:
  • Magazine for a ruger 22 pistol
  • verizon cell phone
  • nasty change
  • lip balm
  • hair clip
  • years of nasty residue.

Got the truck back togetherish earlier (minus the console) and am pondering mounting options.

Dometic makes a mounting kit for the CFs, but it really is goofy. The LC has some decent places to bolt into with the console removed.
I'm thinking a flat platform for a stable mounting surface.

Some people used these: Amazon product ASIN B001445FZGTo add hold down points.

While poking around, I ran across this flat wall bracket:
Amazon product ASIN B07QTWKY4S I think it'll add to much height unless I can recess it, but it's interesting.

I'm thinking of using a TUFFY cup holder:

I made a quick trip with the fridge losely mounted, my major complaint would be that it impedes easy shifting when its taking up the old cup holder area. So... I'm thinking that I'd like the fridge to have two positions.
  1. Driving position - the fridge would be further back and there'd be room for the Tuffy cupholder in front of it.
  2. Camping position - the fridge would be pushed forward against the console so it's out of the way of the bedding. Pop the cup holder out and slide the fridge forward.
I'm kicking around ideas of using 80/20 aluminum slide inserts in my head right now....

Great mod, I was looking to do the same on my lx450.. how did you mount it any pics?
