Still available from the dealer for ~ $15. I don't believe that there is a difference in the switches between 12V and 24V, as the same part number is listed for my 12V HJ47 truck and for a JDM-spec BJ42 (which, AFAIK, is 24V).

The courtesy light itself (part #81240-90801) definitely has the two wires, versus the traditional one wire (part #81240-90800), but the switch I think should only have the one wire. The door jamb switch is the reason that the courtesy light has two wires.
The switch I ordered, part #84230-22051, is definitely only one wire. Double-check your switch on the back side of the A-pillar and see, but the wiring diagram I'm looking at doesn't call out any distinctions between 12V and 24V at that switch, and it shows as one wire. Admittedly it's a 1983 diagram, not 1982, but that parts diagram shows it being applicable from 10/81 - 10/84, so I think it's safe to think that 82 and 83 are the same.
I'm assuming yours is a North America/Canadian BJ42 and not JDM, but the parts diagrams are the same for each regardless.

Egads, you're right!
I just looked at my order from December and it is replaced by part # 84231-28010.
I installed it just last week and can at least confirm that it was a perfect fit/replacement.
