Alright...

170k, and i'm feeling the need to wrench.

I am doing my valve cover gaskets and timing belt/water pump.

I have a list of things I *think* I need, but am curious about some items.

Should I replace the idler's as well?

List:
13568-69095 Timing Belt
13503-62040 Idler #2 ($$$)
13505-62070 Idler #1 ($$$)
13540-62021 Tensioner
90311-38051 Cam seal
90119-16006 Crankshaft damper bolt
90311-40022 Crank seal
90916-03075 Thermostat
16325-62010 Thermostat gasket
16100-69398-83 Waterpump
12204-62010 PCV valve
11213-62020 Valve cover gasket
11193-70010 Spark plug tube gasket
19037-62010 Spark plug cables
Intake Manifold, Plenum Gaskets - No part numbers (Toyota)
Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses - No part numbers
Antifreeze
Spark Plugs

Am i missing anything?

The truck runs awesome, but i'm afraid that it won't be so awesome when the belt breaks.

It's my christmas present to myself :flipoff2:

I just did a timing belt job on my 99 4Runner. I used a kit I sourced from RockAuto Auto Parts it included the t-belt, water pump, both idlers, and gaskets. Price on the kit was around $170, best part about it, they are "Toyota" parts...Aisin, koyo, nsk, mitsuboshi....Then I picked up hydraulic tensioner and cam and crank seals from the dealership. I would suggest you replace those idlers while you are in there. it would be alot of work and wasted time to not replace them and have one fail. If you dont replace them, I would inspect them thoroughly.
This is just my opinion, hope it helps.

Heres the final list of parts...

Time to wrench :grinpimp:

well I just had my 99 pulled apart today.
Definitely check out the crankshaft gear and key on the crankshaft.... mine was loose and worn.

Interested to hear how well the Rock Auto supplied water pump lasts as compared to the OEM pump.
Idlers can be a spin and wiggle them to see how they feel.
I would be a bit tentative to replace OEM parts, just hoping the replacements are as good.
