got a dog this summer from the spca. was told it was a "retriever/lab mix".

based on our research, the way the dog looks and her crazy behavior, we think she is a belgian malinois (aka K9).

any other owners or folks with experience, feedback etc?

she is a great dog, very smart, but is a handful. tons of energy and needs lots of exercise.

here are some pics....

that sure doesnt look like a lab retriever mix
sure is pretty though

Not familiar with the malinois, but the face/head does look very shepard'ish and the body (what can be seen) does look very lab'ish... fwiw..

lab shep mix without a doubt

my cousin had a great dog that looked like that. very smart. when cousin moved out and across town the dog would periodically take off find his way through the city to his parent's place. dog kept on doing this wherever he moved, and also used to ditch him at parties. the record was 80 city blocks.

photos are about 2 months old, so she is bigger now. she had droopy ears when we got her at 8 weeks, so she really looked like a lab/retriever more than anything else.

she is nutz though...keeps me busy and off mud obviously. its like having a 2 year old kid...

That is a Belgium Malinois, possible cross. If you're not ready for that breed, it might not be the dog for you.
Very intelligent, and energetic. They require a strong owner and obedience lessons. Good luck.

Do a DNA test. Should be availible at your vet. Cost should be about 100$. It can determine the breeds involved.
