That's what I'm going for, having trouble find the tailgate net; intend to mount behind rear seatback by utilizing the threaded Cpillar holes as top attachment point, and the pin that sticks outta seatback for bottom. That'll allow for full use of cargo area at night for sleeping.

Until then, on current Dobermobile, we're sporting the cheapie mesh barrier with the adjustable wings, sorta like so: Cabela's -- MidWest Wire® Mesh Pet Barrier. Pretty handy place to clip leashes & stuff...

I've always wondered about these McMaster Carr nets:

McMaster-Carr

If your dogs are chewers, then this might not work! Dobermans, eh?

If nothing else, it'd be a handy net to have for whenever you load the rear up, using the net either horizontal or vertical depending on the amount of stuff back there.

this might be another of my horrible ideas but, has any one considered/looked at a cargo van barrier? i know they are taller then they need to be and probly the worng shape but...... havn't seen one in person in almost 10 years so like i said it might be a horrible idea that turns into way to much work and would be cheaper to get a millford but...

I put one out of an early 90's land rover in mine. It is almost the exact shape and fits great above the rear seat. All I had to do is make up some brackets and bolt in. It does good keeping the dog and gear from getting upfront. It's pretty strong I strap stuff to it alot. Just have to remember to set it back far enough so that passengers don't hit their heads. It still has the part number on it. Let me know it you want it. Ben

Yes, part number please. I'll pm you as well.

So far I'm not having a lot of luck. Found these guys & shot 'em an email, but it might get spendy real quick. offroadconcepts.net

I have one...

I have a steel one that came with my cruiser. I don't use it at all. It has a curved top which rests against the headliner and two large adjustable screw legs which hold it in place. Its galvanized steel but can easily be spray painted. There are 2 adjustable side panels which snug it up left and right too. I am trying to sell it but its heavy so shipping might be an issue for ya. PO used to hang horse tack from it.

Here's what I made for my dogs in my 60. All aluminum. It works well for our 3 mutts. With the barrier not going to the floor, you can still sleep inside and haul long objects.

doug can we get close up's of the mounting?

I will post mounting pics on Monday. The vertical barrier supports are 3/4"X3/4"X1/8" alum angle. The horizontals are 1/2"X1"X1/8" alum tube. The side window guards are 3/4"X1/8" flat alum stock. The main barrier is welded, but the window guards bolt to the barrier in front, and are bolted to the rear quarters in the rear for easy install.
I used "Riv-Nuts"/"Nut-Serts" in the rear and to bolt the barrier verticals to the body behind seat. When I made the rear side panels I installed Riv-Nuts at all the stock clip locations. I also added them for a few special anchors and and the barrier mounts.

The barrier is very secure and does not rattle. The rear window guards make it stout. The dogs can get their heads out the sliding windows, but nothing else.

Hope that helps.

my springer/lab always rides shotgun!:meh:

With my three...(German Shorthair, Vizsla, and Jack Russel) it's always a problem with "Shotgun"! Plus the wife and daughter sometimes want to ride upfront...LOL.

It's also a lot safer and each has a window!

Hey all. Sorry it took me so long to post this up I was out of town getting a engine for my 60. Anyway here is the number on the tag. STC-8161-BP Thats the only number or the thing. It came out of a 94 range rover. Let me know if you need any help finding one. I know some rover guys that can find them.
Thanks Ben

Sorry for the delay, but I took a few mount pictures last night.
