........... Formula Toyota rig?

http://www.pirate4x4.com/formula_toy/

I have a platform sitting on my trailer. I don't want to compete, I don't think, but it sure sounds like a cool idea for the '79 mini. Make it a four-seater, tub-buggy-thingy to buzzing through camp in (ala Nolan)

Just thinking out loud (so to speak).... Debi would prolly kill me....... at least I'd have something to wheel.

I would love to as well, but in addition to the time-space continuum, I'd have to find a way around the wife-budget one. :D

What about pooling our talents/resources this winter, taking a few donated and/or club funded items, and building a crawler we could raffle off next year?
What an excellent idea... wish I would have come up with that!!! :hillbilly:

It's on ..... The cab is shot, the bed is shot, the roof is shot and the fenders are, you guessed it, shot. It'll be down to rolling chassis with a wiring harness in a week or so.

I think the doors, hood, grill (maybe), tailgate (so-so) and the glass are okay if any of you first generation mini folks need anything.

Looking at the Formula 4 chassis :bling: ..... This could be allota fun, very slooooooooooow build.

Hang on to the doors. I'll to use 'em to build a set of half doors.

ME, ME!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce2: :grinpimp:

I have torn my body up so badly on my rig that I am ready to take the plunge...........................Uhhhhhhhhh, just cant get the wife to let me spend the 2K it takes to buy the chassis and then ship it here.

My plan is to find someone with a bender, take the dimensions off Hendrixmotorsports.com and build my own chassis. I won't be doing comps with it so I don't need an "approved" chassis and that means I can run FJ60/62 axles, which I already have spares for :hillbilly:

Let me know in advance on a day to work on it. I can drive down and lend a hand.

Sound like a cool project.

Ok.. What do ya need outta the basement? Sheesh.. Get the specs on the chassis and we'll probably need the hydro conversion for the bender.. What size die do we need?

1.75" for the most part. Don't get in too big a hurry here..... I need to put a clutch in the Ford ($650), Long's in the 40 ($700) and just dropped $550 at 4x4 Labs :smokin: and Debi wants to finish the basement this winter  . Please note I have repeatedly said this will be a slooooooow project :D

I've got the hydraulic bender that Erik's die will fit, plus a 1.5 in die and I have mig, stick and tig welders. Also have bending software. The plans are the hard part. i'm gonna go look at henricks motorsports chassis.
