We all have different tyres on our 90's or 95's and most will have noticed a bigger tyre than standard gets very close to the front mudflaps . What i would like to know is how adding a wheel spacer (or perhaps a negative offset wheel) affects this . Does the tyre get closer to the mudflap ?
I have 285/75 R16 on 16x8 zero offset wheels and no suspension or body lift . I just used a grinder to trim the mudflap and metal seam . I've been driving around like this without problems for a month , but on full lock steer my tyre touches the chassis making an awful noise . Its annoying rather than a problem and its always funny to watch people jump when i scare the life out of them when i use full lock to get between cars in a parking bay .
But it seems a shame not to sort this out on an otherwise perfect truck .
I've heard lots of theories but i would be very grateful to anyone who can actually try this for real and tell me what they find before i fork out £150 for spacers .
