Hi guys, I have a prado KZJ 90 rear axle with factory locker and rear discs. Does anybody know if I can fit the diff locker and rear disc brakes to my HJ61 12ht with full floating rear axle with LSD.
Thanks everyone for all the brilliant threads, seem to spend half my life browsing through them.
Will be starting a thread on the prep off my 61 for my African overland trip soon. Cheers Adam

Hi Adam!
-i guess the easy honest answer is NO.
The gears on the 61 diff is larger than the prado. i think the 90's have a 8" ring gear, versus the 9" or 9,5" on the 6 series. You're probably better off installing a aftermarket locker or autolocker depending on your needs.
Are you able to source OEM cable lockers from a 61 down there? You could do a basic axle swap then, no big deal.
On the brakes, someone else has to pop the answer, but i think i'm realistic when i guess the brakes wont swap either, since you have a full floating rear.
But lets see what the experts say.

I'm looking forward to your overland prep thread! ;)

Hi TLC Norway, you´re right, I took the prado diff out after work and as you said alot lot smaller than the 60¨s. Brakes won´t fit either. Wishfull thinking! There are a few guys selling factory locker axles. Mostly down in the canary islands. They´re asking 1500€ for the pair, then i´ve got to add shipping. If I had the money i would splash out just to keep it original. I´m thinking off going for the LOKKA system, as it also eliminates
the planetary wheels. and helps reducing the backlash I´ve had the ARB lockers on a KZJ 73, brillant but expensive when you add the compressor to the price. Do you know of any one whose tried the LOKKA system?
Should be ordering the parts for the preperation tomorrow, can´t wait!!!

I dont know the Lokka specifically, but i've had Aussie locker (wich looks pretty similar to the LOKKA) and now i have a Powertraxx (also autolocker) in one end. Works beautifully!
But for a daily driver, i would suggest AT LEAST have the front manually locked.

Anyway, the factory ones probaby are worth the bucks. Up here guys are having trouble with the electric motor in the locker, but if serviced and engaged from time to time this should not be any problem...

If it were my cruiser, i'd have the OEM up front, and a autolocker in the rear.
