DIY Installation of OEM LX570 Roof Rails

Hi

I want to install the OEM Lexus roof rails on LX570 (mine was purchased without the RR).

It's a fairly staraight forward install. However, what I wanted to clarify is whether I should put some sealant on the bolts prior to tightening them in order to ensure an air tight fit to prevent any moisture from getting in there that may lead to rust down the years?

Is there any such thing to be applied to the bolts or just go ahead and fit the bolts directly?

The questions isnt necessarily specific to LX570. In general, when fitting ant roof rail, would you have to apply something to the bolts before tightening them to ensure a better fit or prevent rust/moisture?

Just use some silicon on the screws and you should be fine.
