Happy Christmas Eve All,

Has anyone come across a good DIY aluminum extrusion drawer kit? Specifically for 200s? I've been watching the classifieds for a drawer system with frig slide, and I've come to the point that I think I'm going to have to either buy one new or build it myself. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

If I build one, my initial thoughts are:
  • left side frig and stove and cutting board
  • right side deep partitioned drawer. Also, total right side height match 2nd row seat folded down for easy sleeping of one person
  • power bank with removable battery, solar charger, multiple outs on right side panel/wheel well area
  • dual water filters on left side panel/wheel well area (or possible make the right drawer not as deep and mount filter there; which means recovery gear on that panel).
Feedback is welcome.

I've built a few half-a** solutions in the past. I did entertain the 80/20 aluminum route, and it gets quite expensive real quick. Where I have ended up is i think for the $ there is no way to compete in a DIY arena with the new KISS MKII drawers coming out,

From what i heard the single drawers are going to be under $300, and you can get a slide out cutting board too. Just pricing parts alone on the aluminum route i was easily higher than that. I like that the KISS drawers are bare bones unfinished....but built and test fitted. Then and latches, slides and fancy stuff you can just add yourself

I priced one out and by the time I had ordered all the materials I should just buy a prebuilt one. Dobinsons seem to take the cake on the price/value end of the spectrum, ARB are pretty nice too but cost more - but you can order them from anywhere so there are coupons and such. Not madly in love with the Landshark version just because if I am spending the money I want it done-done and not half done.

If I found a big pile of 8020 for free I would be tempted to DIY. As of right now if I go drawers I am going Dobinsons. For $1350 all-in, they are difficult to beat.

@ArnieC , that is essentially my same thoughts. I ordered the Dobinsons drawers last week, should be in my truck by Jan 15.

The Dobinsons all said and done are $1550 shipped. I was close to pulling the trigger for some Dobinsons but decided to hold off and see what the new KISS drawers end up at. From what I’ve gathered they will be around $700 for 2 drawers with the wing kit.

Yeah I’m in a similar boat waiting for the new landsharks. I do get what @ArnieC says though that of your spending the money it’s be nice to have them come done done. I’m ok doing finishing touches if it saves a few hundred though. I currently have 1 third row seat back in so the modular aspect of the landshark is what I need. I like that the sides are finished so if you have just 1 drawer it doesn’t look bad. The ARB sells a single drawer, but I believe the sides are unfinished and the cost of 1 drawer is way more than 2 landshark drawers. I also like that I could stack 2 drawers high if I end up needing a 2nd

At Expo East this year I talked to a guy who had the KISS in his 200. I think they are a great value option. However, the drawers were already showing some light wear and tear. I’m planning on owning my 200 for another 290k miles, and I don’t want to have to replace the drawer guys at some point. Dobinsons (and ARB) have a heavier duty construction that will be more hassle free in the long run. However, if you are looking to minimize weight and can be careful with the drawers, I’d bet the KISS would be a very good choice. Also, I have several children, 3 of which are drivers, so as much as I’d like to think I’m in 100% control of what happens to my 200, in reality I’m not.
