Does anyone know what this plug is for and where I can find the other end of it? I’m on my back looking up under the drivers side of the engine bay, somewhere below the clutch in the picture. You can see the edge of the oil pan on the right of the picture. It’s a 1983 2f engine.

Thanks!

I think it is for your Carburetor cooling fan. That plug is a sensor, it turns on when the engine is turned off to help with cooling the carburetor, to keep residual heat from hot engine from evaporating fuel from carburetor and can cause vapor lock.

It looks like you’re correct. Thanks for leading me in the right direction!

I think I spoke too soon. The plug that is disconnected is circled in red. Isn’t the carb cooling fan circled in blue in this picture? The location of the plug is easier to see from the view from the above.

Yes the green plug circled in red is attached to the sensor for the Carb cooling fan, it reads the temp of the exhaust manifold and is suppose to trigger the fan when the engine is shut off. Circled in blue is the actual fan, it pulls air from outside of engine bay to blow across or at carburetor. I have an 83 FJ 60 also and just went to look, I have the same bracket and sensor.

Thanks for checking on yours. Is your sensor plugged into something, or does it look empty like mine? The plug on my cooling fan is already plugged into something, so I’m a little thrown off with what’s happening with mine. Thanks for your help.

So mine is plugged in and runs into the wiring harness by the fan, after that not sure where it goes after that, but it does work.
