I don’t know what to call it, but there’s a small fold out cubby on the left hand side of my 2011 lx570 that I’m trying to remove.

It seems like the ideal location (either inside or outside) to mount two arb rocker switches. I don’t store anything in it and it’s the only “blank” spot on my dash that a switch would make sense in.

the arb dual rocker switch panel almost fits perfectly inside this cubby...which was my first plan.

however, as I cannot figure out how to remove the cubby, I’m having a hard time removing the rear of the cubby so that the wires can fit.

I’m starting to think maybe I should just cut square holes in the front of the cubby and press the rocker switches into it from the outside...

figured id ask here to see if anyone knows how to get it out before I take the dremel to a visible portion of the 200.

Thanks for any assistance

You need to remove most of the dash trim on that side to remove the cubby. Also, be warned that the rotating mechanism doesn’t give much room behind it to have wires as there’s a few connectors back there already.

to remove pull the the side panel visible when you open the door, leather side piece where the start button is, pop out the mirror control piece then remove the black cover below the dash, then undo bolts and pop out the knee plastic panel

disconnect battery as you are working near the air bag

What @nwfl4runner said. If you do a search for trailer brake controller install you should find a good step by step with pictures. Once you've done it once, it is a 5 min job to get it apart.
