First of all, please excuse me if I am posting in-appropriately or anything - I am not a member of your group - but I did want to get some advice from some local (I am from Sebastopol) Land Cruiser enthusiasts.

I have a 1988 FJ62, with 140K miles, rust-free and in good condition -- OTHER than this one thing: It has an oil leak, and I kind of lost track of it, my wife was driving it a lot, and on the way to Tahoe it ran totally out of oil and the shop says the engine is "frozen".

So I could try to fix this, replace the engine, sell it to just anyone, or sell it to someone (or a shop) interested in restoring it. I really don't know the extent of the work involved. I have had no luck selling on craigslist - it is such a general audience, not land cruiser specific.

Anyone know a local shop that could do this kind of work, or of any northern california restoration shops that would be interested?

Thanks so much for any advice you can give. Right now the cruiser is sitting in a shop in vallejo waiting for me to do something.

What do you want to do with the rig? Sell it as is or fix it to keep or sell? Mudrack's in Sonoma can fix it I'm sure. What are you asking as is?

I am either going to sell as-is or fix it up to sell. Thanks for the Mudrack's suggestion, I will contact them to get an idea what it would cost to fix. I am trying to decide if I would get more for it if I fix it first, then sell. I am currently looking for offers above $1500. I really don't know what it is worth - if it was running I would expect more like $5000.

Here is an ad on craigslist, so far some interest but no hard offers.
