I hate the fact that the FJ has the running lights using the main beams so I was wondering if there was a way to disable the running lights or not.

Sweet, thanks for the link.

Though I think it should be mentioned that it's not exactly easy to access those wires and remove them with decently sized man hands. I had to fiddle with my hand in the gap in order to access the plug's disconnect with my two fingers, couldn't remove it with my thumb as mentioned in the thread. If you have really big hands, you'll have to do a lot more work to access it such as removing the lights etc.

i was told that if you pull your e-brake one click and then start your engine this would disable the running lights.

I disconnected the little white plug just behind the driver's side light....it was alsmost as satisfying as turning off that damn seatbelt chime!!!

You can disconnect the harness behind the drivers headlight like mentioned above. however you could get crud in the sockets. I just ordered a fog lamp switch from toyota that i will tap into the fuse block and mount the switch on the dash in one of the blanks. will be nice to be able to turn on and off if driving in heavy snow or something where less light brightness is better.

I covered the plug ends with high quality electical tape to prevent getting gunk in them.
