I just got a spare tire to match my oversized BFG ATs (285/75-16), but it's a load range D and my other ones are load range E. Do you think that'll cause any issues? I was thinking of adding it to the tire rotation, but if will cause any issues, I'll just keep it for the spare.
Thanks

For some reason the diameter is slightly different on these two tires... not sure how much difference it will make. Since it's a spare I wouldn't think it would matter.

That is interesting that they're slightly different sizes. Looks like it makes a better spare than throwing it into the rotation.
Thanks for the info.

I personally would not. While they are externally similar, they will have different carcass and sidewall construction - essentially making them different tires. They will have different dynamic qualities which could make your car have unpredictable handling.

If you're okay with different tires, and generally don't do much high speed/aggressive driving, you might be able to get away with it.

You're probably fine throwing it in the rotation. There are lots of people out there running mixed sets of tires of entirely different models. I did it for a while when I got bad flat shortly before I was going to replace all of the tires. Different manufacturer and model, same size but probably different overall diamater because the tread was brand new on one and worn on the rest. No problems.
