Hi,

A friend of mine called on getting the master cylinder replaced. The Genesis auto mechanic said it is one of two types of master cylinders. One would be in the $500 range. And the other would be considerably more expensive ($2000? if I am remembering correctly).

The car is a 1999 Lexus LX470.

The VIN is JT6HT00W8X0071625. Is it possible someone smarter than us to determine which type of Master Cylinder is needed (less expensive vs more expensive)?

Your help is greatly appreciated,

Phil

Most likely the difference is a used part from a wrecking yard or a new Toyota mc.

$2000 would be on the low end of a new part cost plus labor if it needs the complete assembly.
