With all of these 60's getting the tops cut out I was wondering how much weight is coming off of them. I'm thinking about keeping my truck if I can cut some serious weight off.

I know this is a little skewed cause a lot of you are putting cages back in them... but I know Al your truck looks real tall in the back...

Thoughts? Weights? and definately pictures please

Roll Cages do not weigh all that much.. I think our Redline Full FJ60 cage with Frame tie in and Gussets only weighs 175lbs..

im not sure how much a chopped off roof would weigh but i bet it would be more than the tube..

if you want a light rig, Sell your 60 and buy a minitruck ;)

the glass and rear hatch are more than the roof but with the bob and all the door glass I lost about a 1k lb WAY more stable off road

that's good to know... thanks. I would have guessed the cage weighed more than that.

And if someone would have bought my truck I'd buy a mini truck ;)

Yeah, I knew you secretly wanted to keep it. Don't start chopping until I get back down to Bburg. i have to be a part of this.

The chopping needs to start soon. That way he cant second guess and change his mind :flipoff2:

Loosing all that glass, plus the roof, hatch and 20 inches of bed dropped weight way down.

Still too heavy for me to get where I wanted to though. Building a 45 buggy from scratch sans bed and a lot of other parts...

Do you have an idea of the curb weight? you or klingon? I need to be able to get it down to "comfortable towing weight" cause I obviously can't keep it together long enough to drive it to and from the trail...
