can any1 help please I'm told it's leaking through my injector pump ?? Where can I source parts to fix ??or pick up a cheap second hand 1?. Ivebin quote do $3000 to rebuild it but that's nearly what I payed for the car
 
$1340 + gst fitted for a re sealed injector pump, is that a good price??or should I keep looking?
 
Well considering he is fitting the pump it sounds good but he might find other problems with your engine how much are you willing to spend on the fix. I would wait as you should be able to pick up a good engine in a rusty truck for that price so keep looking.
 
Yea That's true mate cars can soon become money pits especially 4wds,,when ya say other problems with the engine do you mean that could have developed from driving it with the worn injector pump??? ..... What would happen if I just put my faith in the old girl and just changed the oil frequently? As I don't drive it on long journeys or push her to hard off road
 
The 2h is a very strong engine and will happily run for years with low compression and the best thing you can do is change the oil every 5000 K.
 
I change it way more often than 5 tho km,I don't change the filter every time though is that ok?if I did 5 thousand on1 load of oil it would be coming out the top of the motor ,I just go off the dipstick when its diluted with diesel and 4times past full ,,, repco had 10 Ltr oil for $30 so grabbed a few ,till I figure out what I am going to do,fix or sell her and get another, have ya sold your 1 yet??
